Fibank’s Social Responsibility Fund shall finance 6 projects for children deprived of parental care

Fibank provides support to nearly 170 children from institutions in 2010

Fibank’s Social Responsibility Fund shall finance this year six socially significant projects for children deprived of parental care. Through their implementation shall be supported nearly 170 children from institutions aged between 14 and 18 years in the process of their resocialization and their professional qualifications.

Partner in implementing the social program of First Investment Bank since five years is the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF), which traditionally responsibly and transparently manages the entire process - from the announcement of the competition, through the projects assessment to their implementation and achievement of the desired effect.

The winning projects are:

1. "Skills for Life" - Regional Council of Bulgarian Red Cross - town of Shumen;

2. "Creating better opportunities for resocialization and professional qualification of children leaving Social Establishment "Rada Kirkovich"" - Association for social support "Zakrila", city of Plovdiv;

3. "A friend next to you" – Civil Association "Alternativa 55", town of Stara Zagora;

4. "Improving the prospects for education and career development of children and youth in Children’s Social Establishment "Penyo and Maria Velkovi"" - Association "Zov", town of Gorna Oryahovitsa;

5. "The better choice for you" - Regional Association of School Psychologists and Educators – city of Burgas;

6. "Hold Me" - Association "Pregarni me", city of Sofia

The approved six projects were selected among 26 projects submitted within the deadline by different organizations from around the country who have applied for funding of social activities to Fibank’s Social Responsibility Fund. The next step is to sign contracts with the successful organizations and to start in practice the actual implementation of the activities in support of children from social establishments for children deprived of parental care.

The activities included in the approved projects generally plan the conducting of practical training of children for obtaining professional qualification and guidance, providing part-time employment to interested children, art therapy, etc.

The priorities of Fibank’s Social Responsibility Fund this year are resocialization and professional qualification of children from social institutions who are expected to leave the social establishments and enter into normal life. They are faced with the problem of their professional qualification, personal development and their realization in general.
