Fibank First Investment Bank (Fibank), the general sponsor of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) and the sponsor of Alexandra Jekova, awarded the Bulgarian snowboarder a bonus of BGN 50,000 for her achievements at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
The check was presented to the athlete personally by the Executive Director of the Bank, Mr. Vassil Christov, who commented: "Fibank have been the proud sponsor of Sani Jekova since 2011. Even then we were confident that she has the making of a true champion. As the general sponsor of the Bulgarian Ski Federation we actively support the winter sports in Bulgaria. According to the sponsorship contract Ms. Jekova was due to receive a bonus, if she had won an Olympic medal.
Regardless of the poor luck, today we can greet her as a true winner, because she truly deserved to be on the medalists' pedestal in Sochi. With her performance she made all Bulgarians proud; she is our champion and an admirable role model. Bulgarian youth should have role models such as Sani Jekova.
I sincerely hope that she will have more luck next time. I wish her good health and abundance of luck. I am confident that she will achieve even greater success", said Fibank's Executive Director. The star snowboarder expressed her gratitude for the long-term support by Fibank and their trust in her.
Sani Jekova also expressed her gratitude to the Bulgarian Ski Federation and to all her fans in Bulgaria.
