FIBank Awarded the Bulgarian Olympic Medalists from Beijing’08

First Investment Bank, the general sponsor of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, on the official ceremony held yesterday at the Grand Hotel Sofa, handed money awards to the medal winners from the Olympic Games held this summer in Beijing.

This is the first time in Bulgarian sports history when the Bulgarian Olympic Committee has handed money awards which became possible thanks to the financial support of FIBank. Awarded were not only the Bulgarian Olympians but also the two medalists from the Paralympics in Beijing.

The money awards were transferred into card accounts and our Olympic champions had Visa Electron debit cards issued by FIBank. The amounts are the following: Rumyana Neykova, gold medal, rowing – skiff – BGN 20 000, Stanka Zlateva, silver medal, freestyle wrestling – BGN 10 000, Stela Eneva – silver medal from the Paralympics, discus-throwing – BGN 10 000, Yavor Yanakiev – bronze medal, Greco-Roman wrestling – BGN 6 000; Radoslav Velikov and Kiril Terziev – bronze medals, freestyle wrestling – BGN 6 000 and Daniela Todorova, bronze medal from the Paralympics, track and field athletics, javelin throw – BGN 6 000.

The Olympians gave Maya Georgieva, Executive Director of FIBank, a T-shirt in a frame, a part of the official sports outfit of the Bulgarian delegation from Beijing ’08, signed by all sportsmen and sportswomen who had participated in the different disciplines of the Olympics. Mrs. Georgieva shared that the T-shirt will be hung at the Bank’s largest office – the one on Dragan Tsankov Blvd. in Sofia, so it could be seen not only by the FIBank’s employees but by the numerous customers visiting the office every day.
