Identification in the Virtual branch now possible by a Token as well

Since June 01, 2010 First investment bank offers another method of authentication and identification for logging in the Virtual Branch – through a Token device. The Token is an electronic device that generates one-time passwords to identify the user to the system of Fibank’s Virtual Branch. The Token is compact and easy to use and it’s offers dual protection. By using a Token device clients are able to perform "active" banking operations from every computer with an internet connection.

The Token device does not require any additional software to be installed or configured on the computer. Token devices can be bought from Fibank’s branches and offices and are then registered and associated with a client’s profile at the Virtual Branch.

Fibank’s clients have the option to use their Token device as a stand-alone identification method when performing active operations in the Virtual Branch. Those clients, who already have a certificate or Universal electronic signature, can use the Token as an additional security and authentication device, which will improve the security of their access.

The Token offers dual protection ensured by two password codes. The first one is PIN (Personal Identification Number), assigned to the device. The second code is generated automatically based on a complex algorithm and can be used within 30 seconds, otherwise a new code has to be generated. The device can be used only in the case that both passwords are correct.

First investment bank is the first Bulgarian bank to offer its clients internet banking services. Fibank’s Virtual Branch and its functionality will be improved further in order to meet clients’ expectations and needs for a high performance, modern and competitive service.
