Fibank awarded with scholarships students and teachers from Sofia High School of Mathematics

Fibank (First Investment Bank) awarded students and teachers from the Sofia High School of Mathematics for their excellent performance at the International Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Informatics held in Kazakhstan.

Students from Sofia High School of Mathematics won 5 gold and 3 silver medals and won first place in the team ranking.

At a ceremony held today at the headquarters of First Investment Bank, the Chief Executive Officer of the bank - Mr. Vasil Hristov personally handed checks with scholarships of 700 BGN to each of the children. With additional scholarship in the amount of 1100 BGN were awarded the five teachers who prepared the gold medal winners for the Olympics in Kazakhstan.

"Mathematics is the foundation of development. It can be applied in economics, finance, informatics and numerous other areas. I am happy that our children are number one in the world. I hope that we at First Investment Bank and all business representatives in the country will be able to create enough interesting challenges for them and provide them a suitable environment for development in Bulgaria", said Mr. Vasil Hristov.

By this initiative Fibank launched a long-term social program that will support the education and further development of the students from the Sofia High School of Mathematics. We are planning to established a scholarship for all graduates of the school.

Students from Sofia High School of Mathematics with total grade over 5.96 will receive both higher amount of the scholarship and an honorary medal.

A joint program of Fibank and Sofia High School of Mathematics involves the establishment of a special program of training courses for students of the school in business, management, presentation skills and practice in a real banking environment.
