26 projects from across the country applied for funding from the Fibank’s Social Responsibility Fund

The Bank donated flu vaccines to Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation

26 organizations from across the country applied by submitting projects for funding of social services to Fibank’s Social Responsibility Fund and presently a procedure is running for evaluation of their proposals. It is expected by the end of March this year the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation to announce the results of the competition and from April 1, 2010 to start signing contracts with the successful organizations and the practical implementation of the projects.

This year the priority of Fibank’s Social Responsibility Fund is the resocialization and professional qualification of children from institutions between 14 and 18 years of age. These children graduate school or expected soon to graduate and are in the stage to decide on their professional education and realization on one hand, and on the other to leave the social establishment and to enter into normal life.

Participants in the competition are the: Regional Council of Bulgarian Red Cross, Artistic World of Youth; DEDAL Association; Association for social support "Zakrila", Association for distribution of knowledge "Misal", Non-for-profit organization "Childhood for Children Association", Association for Modern Culture; Association "Center for Development - Popovo", Association "Znanie", Civil Association "Alternativa 55", Bulgarian Red Cross Association, District Council of Bulgarian Red Cross - city of Plovdiv, Association "Big Brother Big Sister - Bulgaria", Step for Bulgaria Foundation, Zov Association, "Hope For Us - 2008", Bulgarian School of Politics, Foundation "Blagotvoritel", July Jazz Foundation, Non-for-profit organization "Mission Culture", Outward Bound - Bulgaria Foundation, Bulgarian Federation of Patients' Forum, Association for Development and Support of Roma women and children; Association "Regional association of school psychologists and teachers – Burgas", Association "European Association for You"; Non-for-profit organization in the public interest to youth initiatives and intercultural integration in formal and informal education – GRANKI, Association "Pregarni me".

The initiatives that shall be considered with priority will be those that combine different groups of people and institutions from one location, united by the idea of supporting children deprived of parental care. Priority will be given to initiatives that offer innovative solutions or alternative opportunities for personal development or professional development of children.

First Investment Bank donated to its traditional partner in the implementation of socially significant projects Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation flu vaccines for children deprived of parental care.

The Foundation team has made the necessary arrangements and the vaccines donated shall be delivered to Social Establishment for children deprived of parental care "Prof. Zlatarov", in the city Sofia. The vaccines are expected to reach the children as soon as possible and shall be used early as next week.
